Council Chairman’s exhortation to the 21st Annual General Meeting held at Trinity United Church, Legon on Sunday, 11th June 2017.

Last week, the president of the Republic named the first batch of Ambassadors. They receive their credentials upon arrival at their respective posts they will report to the president of the respective country and certainly receive red carpet treatment. Way we neglect on this passage 2 Corinthians 5:17 – 21 (Read)

So first of all, we have become new creation, the new has come and the old has gone. We have been made ambassadors and given the message of reconciliation as those through us God was reconciling the world to himself.

The role of an ambassadors, though prestigious comes with a lot of responsibilities. Indeed, it is a high calling outs service. Our president has posted these Ghanaian diplomats to represent him and the country on the other side and to provide service first of all to the Ghanaian citizens out there and the aliens who may have interest one way or the other in the matters of our country. In fact, they are there to promote Ghana. Family and friends are happy for these diplomats.

Now we have been called and made ambassadors not by our president but by our Father in heaven.

Reflect, do you count it joyful and blessed to have received to calling? We are in this world to represent Jesus Christ. 1 John 4:17 As Jesus is so are we in this world.

We are not left to our own devices but have been given the message of reconciliation. We need to spread and bring to all we encounter the message of God’s unconditional Love to human kind through the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross.

The church may be out there but I am saddened as two often the message is hate for our families. Turn on the TV, visit some fellowships and all time it is about witchcraft, your mother, father, siblings, and relatives in the village – call fire on them, shot them with AK47 and B52.

Have we deviated from the trajectory of the message of reconciliation – the message of love that revives peace between man and God?

Several of the people involved in the lynching of Capt Max (May he rest in peace) you will be surprised he belong to some local church. They are filled with hate even in the church. They are told that people are after their business, livelihood, seeking to destroy them, pray that they die, kill them and so on.

Love does not hate.

It is absent in our message. It is therefore absent in believers. As a fellowship believers and be as it many ambassadors, we have an urgent task to fill everywhere with the message of reconciliation love. Act 5:28 we gave on strict orders never again to teach in this man’s name he said. “Instead you have filled all Jerusalem with your teaching about him…………

Dear friends, the apostles filled all Jerusalem with teaching about Jesus. We soon leave here for SICE. Shall we fill the communities with the love of him who sent us? Shall we fill the market place with the love of him who sent us?

I believe GHAFES has a unique role in this beautiful country of ours.

Let us love it with the love of Jesus.

Let us save it with the love of Jesus.

We are saved to love.
