Knowing Christ and making Him known

The tertiary campus is the primary mission field of GHAFES. GHAFES offers opportunity for its members to engage their peers and the tertiary campus with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This is achieved through our campus evangelism and campus missions (e.g. the S2M).  The S2M aims to strategically engage majority world across the various tertiary institutions in Ghana through prayer and bold proclamation of the gospel of JESUS CHRIST using various apologetic approaches.

SLOGAN: GOD’S MISSION IS OUR MISSION

For rural missions, GHAFES runs two major projects – the Students-In-Church Evangelism (SICE) and Short Term Involvement in Community Service (STICS).

a. The SICE Project

The Students-In-Church Evangelism (SICE) (aka Students-In-Community Engagement) seeks to give students opportunity to reach out to deprived rural and unreached communities in Ghana with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Uniqueness of the GHAFES SICE

GHAFES SICE is unique for a number of reasons:

  • It is a mission trip of not less than three weeks
  • Communities reached are followed up for not less than 4 years
  • An average of 5 student missionaries per community ensures that every one of these students participate fully and not hide behind others
  • At SICE we don’t only preach, we teach in schools, run medical services/screenings, do social advocacy and engage practices that are not wholesome.
  • We live with the people, sleep where they sleep, eat what they eat and integrate with them fully

b. The STICS Project

Short Term Involvement in Community Service (STICS) mission project was introduced in 2009. STICS project seeks to give young graduates (National Service Persons) opportunity to volunteer one year to serve in deprived and rural communities in Ghana. These young missionaries are posted as teachers to the basic schools in deprived rural communities and to consolidate the work started during the SICE project. The young graduates proclaim the gospel, disciple new believers and engage their communities in socio-economic developmental issues and thus, becoming ‘all things’ to the community to help improve their welfare.
