The annual GHAFES THANKSGIVING AND FUNDRAISING DINNER is a major activity of the fund raising desk, strategically organized at the end of the year to thank God for His goodness and faithfulness throughout the year and also to raise funds from associates and friends of the ministry.
Purpose of this year’s dinner
The objectives of the fund raising dinner was:
1. To thank and praise God for the year.
2. Launching of our Dzorwulu building project.
3. To raise an amount of GH˘20,000
as the seed money for our building project at Dzorwulu.
4. To bring associates, friends and partners together for reconnection and relationship building.
The theme of the fund raising dinner was The GHAFES Associates’ significant role in the work of the ministry. The theme was chosen to define the associates’ significant role in the ministry of GHAFES.
Ing. Magnus Quarshie, Council Chairman, chaired the fund raising dinner. Mrs. Francisca Ahwiren Adakwah, an
associate, and Mr. Henry Baye, Senior Treasurer on the Executive Council, were the MCs for the event.
The new General Secretary, Mr. Victor Abaka Obeng took the opportunity to address the gathered associates and friends
of the ministry about the Dzorwulu Office complex project. The Chairman also
took his turn to make emphasis for the need of such an office complex for the
ministry at such a time as this.
Mr. Steven Eshun, the General Manager of Sunny Fm, was the fund raiser for the occasion.
By God’s grace, we raised a total amount of GH˘35,976.40. Of this, we received cash of
GH˘2,386.40, GH˘14,530.00 in cheques and GH˘ 19,060.00 as pledges all
redeemable by March, 2010. We also received $700 and €200. There were other
donations made in kind such as cement blocks, bags of cement, iron rods, etc.
We thank God for making last year’s thanksgiving and fund raising dinner a record breaking and memorable one. We
are really grateful for His guidance and protection in all that we have been doing.
We extend a hand of gratitude to Mr. Reindorf Baah Perbi, a former Chairman of the Executive Council, for his timely
counsel towards the dinner. We also wish to acknowledge our current Council
Chairman, Ing. Magnus Quarshie for his unfailing support in both counsel and
direction as we prepared toward the launch the building project.
Finally, we also wish to express our profound gratitude to the all associates and friends
of GHAFES for their presence and contributions. God richly bless you all.
